On attempt to create new POSTGIS service source in Webmap 2020 Essentials I am receiving error stating "no schema has been selected to create in". Postgres Search_path shows "public". My postgres database is fresh - empty for Webmap metadata and has only public shema.
Looking in Webmap publisher documention but there is no update on new version 2020 capability to store metadata in PostGRES.

I'm not so familiar with PostGIS, but with the SQL Server environment you have to use Database Utilities to create the standard GeoMedia Metadata tables in the database prior to using as a service source. I assume its a similar requirement.

The creation of metadata with Database Utilities into my PostGres/PostGis schema allows me to edit vector data in PostGIS with Geomedia desktop but does not change the situation with New POSTGIS service source error. I created the new Postgres schema again and added the metadata with Database utilities once more time. No positive result so far with Webmap metadata in Postgres.

The PostGIS metadata capability was introduced already in 2018 Update 2 (see Release Guid here).
Could it be that there's rather a problem with user permissions in your PostGIS? I've found this discussion on the similar topic:
