How do I refresh the system after WebMap and service modifications ?
When making changes through the WebMap Administration Console, updating services or applying engineering patches it is necessary to refresh the configuration by restarting services and clearing caches and temporary files.
The easiest way is through the use of a batch file.
Open a command prompt and note the default directory path. It should be similar to c:\users\username.
Copy the attached WebMapReset.zip file into the directory defined by the command prompt and extract to WebMapReset.bat.
From the command prompt run the webmapreset.bat file to reset all the WebMap, IIS and Portal instances and clear all the associated caches including the .NET temporary files and folders.
Note: Some Administrators set the HOMEPATH to C:\Windows\system32 setting this to the default directory when the command prompt is opened. This is strongly not advised as this is a system folder and commands that are run by mistake can seriously damage the operating system. Recommend adding C:\Windows\System32 to the user's path environment variable instead.
