Question

How can Label Web be used to label a legend entry consisting of thematics?

Answer

Label Web requires that each thematic have its own line and label parameters defined in the [FEATURETYPE] section of the .lrf. Each thematic can refer to the same LabelRuleSet if desired.

For example there may be a legend entry with a thematic and 3 sub thematics.

In this case the [FEATURETYPE} section would look like so. (type = 2 assumes line feature type)

[FEATURETYPE]

2=2

3=2

4=2

[2]

TextString=name

Font=Arial Bold

FontSize=18pt

FontColor=0 0 0

Priority=1

JoinFeature=NO

LabelRuleSet=1

[3]

TextString=name

Font=Arial Bold

FontSize=18pt

FontColor=0 0 0

Priority=1

JoinFeature=NO

LabelRuleSet=1

[4]

TextString=name

Font=Arial Bold

FontSize=18pt

FontColor=0 0 0

Priority=1

JoinFeature=NO

LabelRuleSet=1

[$LABELRULESET: 1]

It might be useful to know that the ID of the legend entry can be checked in the WebMap Publisher command's "Map Content" dialog:

Map Content

In this example, I have selected a thematic sub legend entry and see that its ID is 80.

LabelWeb doesn't care what kind of legend entry it is operating on, as long as it's not a group legend entry and its ID is known and valid.
